David Courtney, a Vietnam Veteran and Pastor, embodies the spirit of community, service, and compassion, right here in Cottonwood, Arizona.
From the words of his peers, “Mr. Courtney is a man who can’t sit still.” Every month, David collects funds from members of the church, channeling these resources towards various community centers across Verde Valley.
From the Senior Center to the House of Ruth, and Arizona’s Children Organization, David ensures that the support extends far beyond the Verde Valley campground, reaching those in need throughout the community. His good works also extend to his fellow veterans, organizing charity events and initiatives to uplift and support them when they need it most.

Mr. Courtney is always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Whether it’s raking yards, emptying tanks, or even catching and relocating skunks and snakes, David is the go-to person for assistance. His leadership extends to the campground’s recreational activities, where he leads the pool players twice a week and ensures that every member of the lodge starts their day with a hot cup of coffee.
Courtney enjoys an annual site at Thousand Trails Verde Valley, located in Cottonwood, Arizona. Verde Valley is known not only for its great location, but also for the amenities found right on site such as a swimming pool, nature/hiking trails, sports courts, and mini golf. More than anything, Verde Valley is a place where friendly guests, like David Courtney, are always there to lend a helping hand.
